To build the circular economy, producers and importers must be responsible for the life cycle environmental impact of products. Around the world, many countries have begun to pay attention and promulgate policy measures to prevent, control and protect the environment against the impact of the plastic industry. Aware of this situation, the Vietnamese government has been taking steps to minimize the negative impact of the plastic industry on the environment through amendments and supplements to the Environmental Law.
With that goal, the Center for Communication of Natural Resources and Environment (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment), the Vietnam Association of Clean Water and Environment in collaboration with Informa Markets Vietnam Company held a webinar on “Impacts of Amendments on Environmental Protection Laws on Plastics Industry” with the participation of experts and representatives from departments such as Vietnam Plastics Association, Legal Department of MONRE, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vietnam (VCCI).
The program promises to update the current status of the plastic industry, the opportunities and challenges faced by plastic enterprises in Vietnam, the basic changes of the revised Law on Environmental Protection as well as the government’s directives on environmental protection. manage, reuse and reduce plastic waste.
